LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn., August 16, 2017– Conservative State Rep. Jimmy Matlock met with more than 70 conservative Republican activists on Tuesday night in Loudon County as he kicked off his race for Congress to replace retiring Congressman Jimmy Duncan.
“It’s incredible to see so many God-fearing, honest, hard-working East Tennesseans excited about our race for Congress,” said Matlock. “Our message is resonating across the district. People recognize that we are in very serious times, and they want a serious candidate to meet the challenges they face because of Washington’s recklessness. People are tired of career politicians and broken promises. They want to know that their own interests come first, not the interests of politicians and special interests.”
Matlock extended a special thank you to the Cross County Patriots’ hosts, Bobby and Ginny Mills.
“I can’t thank Bobby and Ginny enough for their commitment to the conservative cause in our region. In so many ways, they serve as a bedrock for the foundation our Founding Fathers saw fit to build this nation on,” noted Matlock.
